East Side Banh Mi

Created by the accomplished husband and wife team of Chad Newton and Grace Nguyen, East Side Banh Mi has quickly garnered both popular and critical acclaim in the Nashville area. East Side's signature banh mis celebrate both Chef Grace's Vietnamese heritage and southern upbringing in Houston, with each sandwich being traditional in spirit yet with an added southern twist. Prior to moving East with her husband and business partner, Chef Gracie had already achieved noted success in the Bay Area, serving as sous chef at Wolfgang Puck's Postrio and Charles Phan's Slanted Door before becoming Chef de Cuisine at Asian Box. In September, Chef Gracie was tapped by the James Beard foundation to take part in crafting a menu for the Foundation's Taste America event series.
