Kasa Indian Eatery was founded in 2008 by Anamika Khanna and her husband Suresh to bring healthy and accessible homestyle Indian food to the Bay Area. Born in London, Anamika was taught to cook traditional Punjabi cuisine by her aunt, who would trust her with ever so slightly more complex dishes as the years went on. After moving to the US in 2000, Anamika came to miss the home-cooked food she had grown up with. Although Indian cuisine has long been available in America, the majority of the restaurants that scatter the country serve a type of fare more suited to special occasions than daily consumption. Anamika and Suresh set out to change this with Kasa, which has since its inception focused on homestyle cuisine and a menu that encourages consumers to eat their (delicious) vegetables! Did we mention they've won awards for the best chai in San Francisco?
