Road Food Logo

Chef Gordon Drysdale created the Road Food brand as a taste map of the cross country journey he took in a Winnebago after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America more than thirty years ago. On this trip that took him West, Gordon was guided by the stories of James Beard, the first famed chef to dissect, recognize, and publicize the greatness of America's regional cuisines. He sampled dozens of provincial dishes during his travels that had never been mentioned in his classical training, and was shocked by the depth of flavor and character that he found in the no-nonsense restaurants that scattered the roadside. Out of this experience, Road food was born.
